Westbury Leigh has been effectively a suburb of Westbury from medieval times, but it retained a separate identity as a fiscal and administrative unit until the 19th century.  Westbury Leigh became a thriving village with its own shops, pubs and industry, nearly as large as Westbury itself (in 1801 the population of Westbury was 1,837 and that of Westbury Leigh 1,475).

Westbury Leigh is rather quieter now, but we can still take pride in our history and our sense of community.

Westbury Leigh Village Association

Westbury Leigh Village Association was set up in 2007 to share news and to foster the interests of the local community in Westbury Leigh.  The Village Association has now been disbanded, but you can read about its activities in the archive of minutes and newsletters on this page.

Westbury Leigh Community Project Ltd continues to produce the newsletter.  If you would like more information or wish to add your local business to the Newsletter Trades Directory, then click on Contact Us.
